Rehabilitation

Many individuals come to Medicalodges skilled care centers to recover from an injury or illness and are able to successfully return home. Rehabilitation programs include stroke recovery, cardiac and heart rehabilitation, hip and knee surgery replacement programs, as well as other post acute care that enable a patient to return home.

Comprehensive Rehabilitation – All Medicalodges care centers provide comprehensive rehabilitation including physical, occupational and speech/language therapies provided by licensed therapists who follow a physician approved written plan of care. Inpatient and outpatient programs are available, depending on an individual’s care needs.

Physical Therapy – Assists in pain reduction and strengthening and restoring normal gait and function.

Occupational Therapy – Helps an individual achieve the greatest independence possible by enabling them to perform activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, and toileting. Therapists work with adaptive equipment, complete home assessments with adaptive and safety recommendations, as well as work with the family and caregivers so that the individual’s goals for independent living can be reached.

Speech Therapy – Evaluation and treatment of impaired speech, language and swallowing. Speech-language therapy is commonly needed after a neurological incident such as a stroke, or as a result of Parkinson’s, long term dementia, and hospitalization.

Restorative Therapy – Restorative therapy services improve or maintain a resident’s range of motion, ambulation and mobility, and muscle tone. Restorative therapy benefits residents who are receiving other therapy treatment as well as those who have stayed with us for some time and need to enhance their physical well-being.
